Ok, this will be the largest list you've ever seen a game addict post at one time IF I can even get half of them typed before I have to go:
Gameboy:
Metroid[u] (any and all metroids have been awesome, even the first one that ever came out (yes, I've owned and beaten the original. It was a hate love relationship)
[u]Tetris (Beating your friends in tetris head-to-head was never as satisfying as borrowing their game and owning every high score slot with ridiculous scores they'd never beat, but it's very addicting either way)
Link (yes, before it was the legend of Zelda it was simply Link (The Adventures of Link I believe it was anyways, made for gameboy original and remade for advance))
Pokemon (A lot of people will disagree with this, but no matter how many times I pick up a pokemon game I can't put it down until I've beaten the elite four fifty times and got a party of level 100 pokemon)
Legend of Zelda (Any and all games featuring Link have been somewhat the same, but each one has it's own highlights)
Castlevania: Symphony of night (title might be wrong, but the magic system of combining cards and the 'hidden' ultimate magics (the ones that needed you to press down right up left b or something like that) were amazing, and the game and it's bosses were gameboy at it's best)
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (Must say, not as good as it's predecessor, despite improving graphics and adding 'soul trade' it became way to easy and tedious to get magic powers, and the fact that you couldn't combine the effects of souls to make a new effect was disappointing to me. It still ranks in my top 30 though, for it's good GB graphics, difficult bosses, and overall maze of insanity. Not to mention you can be Dracula.)
playstation
FF IX
FF X
FF X2
(I've decided to group the final fantasy games into a single description: Addicting gameplay with good graphics, a beautiful storyline, amazing specials, awesome animals, epic boss battles, challenging puzzles, tons of enemies, non-stop action, buttloads of hidden treasures and secrets, anything I missed in that? FF games have not failed me yet)
Spyro (Alright, so don't like me for having Spyro up here, I don't care. It was my first and only game when I had a playstation 1, and I played it to death (I never got inside the spiral tower in dream world. Made me mad.)
Metal Gear Solid (I've only played VR Training, but this game is epic ninja fighting at it's best (Considering it's PS1), I'd love to get some of the real MGS games, but I have no PS atm)
[Kingsfield] (A lot of people have never even heard of this epic mix of fantasy magic and adventure, but I was lucky enough to beat the whole game (-a single magic crystal =< ) a couple times over. Good graphics and gameplay, and it's FPF (First person fantasy)
Gamecube
Super Smash Brothers (I've been playing these games since I first heard the word Gamecube, and I'll still be playing them on my death bed. Mixing characters from various genre, to massacre eachother on hectic worlds with tons of wacky power-ups included. There's something for any gamer in it (-FP gamers I suppose))
Zelda series (again) As everyone knows, with the gamecube came a new batch of Zelda, and once again they have yet to make a single disappointing Zelda game (so far as I know))
ratchet and clank (Wacky and fun to play, not a great storyline, but it gets an honorable mention simply for it's huge arsenal of weapons (more-so in it's later games when guns could level and become huge hormone powered man guns =0-0= ))
XBOX
Halo 2 (Great game, lacking in some areas, but pretty nice. I'd play it until I beat and never play it again)
Halo 3 (BAM, then this comes out and pwns every shooter I've ever played. Online shootouts were my favorite part by far, but the game itself wasn't too bad, even if I hate the spawning pit SOOO much to this day.)
So what is my top pick you might be wondering. Here it is:
Platform:
N64
the original 3d gaming beast. Even playstation when it came out didn't come near to this baby's capabilities (Duke Nukem is a great example of that)
Game:
Zelda: Twilight Princess (yes the game and console don't match)
Amazing graphics, beautiful gameplay, great storyline, funny characters. Unfortunately this is the first game where link looks... real-ish. That took some time to get used to, and I almost quit because of it, but that was just as I was entering Twilight. I became a wolf, and now I'm determined to beat the game.
Unfortunately I've forgotten at least half of the great games I've played, and I haven't played a lot of games out there, but I'm a game hunter, tried and true.
